WINDOWS AND DOORS OPENINGS AND SILLS

Home owners and Contractors often need to change the dimensions of a masonry opening to accommodate for a new sized window or door. This requires structural support to the masonry above, a matching brick or stone, and a skilled mason to remove and lay new brick or stone with matching brick or stone. Homeowners and contractors also often request that a window or door be bricked in. This happens most often when renovating and more cabinet space is needed. When bricking in a window, it’s important to “tooth-out” (remove the smaller partial bricks at the vertical edges of the window) and lay bricks in their place to match the existing brick pattern of the house.

At Neal Brothers, we take pride in altering, creating new, or closing up window openings with structural integrity and aesthetic skill. We take great care in matching the bricks or stones, tinting the mortar to blend with the original, and toothing out/laying new brick or stone edges with clean new faces where necessary to keep the proper brick pattern.

This all helps to give the appearance that the opening has always been there, and that nothing will stand out, other than your new beautiful window or door.

Call Neal Brothers Construction if you have a masonry house that needs a new window or door opening!
